The fire pit scene
This is the most familiar sight at a campsite: logs stacked in a steel fire pit on legs, burning in the dark. The fire sits higher than a campfire built on the ground, closer to eye level. Most campsites now require a fire pit, so if you have been camping, this is probably the picture you remember.
What makes this scene different
- Firelight catches the rim of the bowl, and the flames rise from inside it.
- More sparks fly than in the other scenes.
- The default sound is a campsite at night: fire crackle with a little wind and crickets.
Ways to use it
Build a big fire. Raise the flame size above 130 in Sound and display and the fire grows as if you had piled on more wood, with more frequent crackling. Click the fire to stir the logs and send up a shower of sparks.
The night before a trip. Leave it on while you pack to get in the mood early. It also helps when you are home again and missing the campsite.
With company. Put it on a big screen and sit around it for a campsite atmosphere indoors. See also How to enjoy a campfire at home.
